Eight Tips For Safe Travelling Abroad

  1. Dress conservatively as possible. Don’t appear to be the rich American . Dressing too flashy can mark you as a tourist.
  2. Travel light. Use one carry-on and one piece of check-in luggage with wheels. You will definitely save on skycap tips and taxi fares. In Europe, taxi drivers charge for every piece of luggage.
  3. Be sure that the country you are traveling to does not have unacceptable health risks.
  4. It’s nice to leave your cares behind when you travel, but make sure someone back home knows where you’re going , how long you’ll be away, and how to contact you in case of emergency.
  5. Conceal items such as passports, cash, credit cards, etc., in several places rather than one place. Be careful in crowded places such as subways, train stations, elevators, and tourist sites. These are favorite places for pick pockets.
  6. Bring travelers checks and one or two major credit cards and a minimum of cash.
  7. Make sure that you have a valid passport or visa in a safe place. Make sure that it is signed.
  8. Learn all you can about the laws and customs of any foreign country you will be visiting
